First Time Back in the Gym

So this weekend was my parent's anniversary and Miranda's birthday. So, we ate out. Every single meal. For a day and a half. Surprisingly enough, I still managed to lose .2 pounds. Not great, but it's a miracle I didn't gain any more weight. I currently weight 126.8 pounds. I also weighed myself after breakfast, cause I forgot to weigh myself before. I would love to be down between half a pound to a pound each week.

I read a book that helped me understand weight loss and healthy eating. It's called "This is Why You're Fat." I love this book. And in this book are workouts that are set during the week. I do one of the circuits three days a week (M, W, F) and cardio 5 days a week (M-F). I am hoping to have the time to do cardio every day of the week. Motivation is hard to find, but I'm gonna do it!

Today is also my first day getting back into the gym routine. I just looked up my gym's schedule and they have the fitness room open now, so I am going to do my circuit training in there. I am also doing my cardio for 20 minutes.

I'm excited to see what getting back into the gym does for me. I have never been a "gym rat," so I'm struggling on motivation.

See you all soon!

No Better Time Than the Present

I have had a gym membership for almost a year now. I started out at 131.4 pounds. For someone that is 5'2", that's bad. So with the help of the most amazing coach (my husband, Alex), and my trainer, Mary, I was able to lose 8 pounds before Alex and I left for our honeymoon. I felt great.

But now that we are both back home, the weight is slowly coming back. I weigh about 126 now. My goal is not exactly a number, but I want to have thinner thighs (I currently have what my dad calls 'thunder thighs,' and what I call 'turkey legs'), and a more fit midsection. With my height, I am hoping that I feel incredibly beautiful around 116 or 118.

This blog is to help me gain back my motivation that I had before my honeymoon. I would love any feedback on how to help get in shape, or what foods to eat.

Thank you!
