I can't believe it's taken me this long to write anything else. So over the past couple of months, this is what I learned about myself.
1) I truly struggle to lose weight. I was on Jamie Eason's 12 week plan. I made it through Week 8 and didn't see any results (this includes pounds and inches). After that, I got so frustrated, and gave up. Not one of my finer moments.
2) I have learned that I can eat out about 75% of the time, and only gain about a pound every few weeks. Because of that, it has been hard for me to motivate myself to get back into healthy eating and back into the gym.
Today, I was looking at some pictures of my trip to Europe with my friend Susan in 2011. I have always thought I was a tab bit bigger than I should be (by no means overweight). After looking at those photos, I realized I was a really good size. I know there has to be a way to get back to that size.
So, I'm back on track! I actually bought a really cute top that looks good on me now, to get a little self-confidence back in me. I have my lunch (beans and rice) and my snacks all ready for work tomorrow.
Time to change.
Talk soon!

Frustrating...
Sorry I haven't logged in for almost a month! It's been a whirlwind of crazy life taking control of everything.
So I've been frustrated with my results. I have been on my plan now for 7 weeks, and I have yet to see a pound fall off or feel my pants not cut into my hips so badly. I eat relatively clean (I am by no means perfect), and I continuously go to the gym. I am losing any motivation that I had. I know I still need to go to the gym and eat better for my health, but it would be really nice to see some results. I know I can drop below 131. I was at 125 just a few months ago. So why is nothing working?
I could always use some suggestions!

Week 4 of Week 12
So I have been doing Jamie Eason's Live Fit plan. It's a 12 week plan that is broken down into 4 week phases. I am currently on Week 4, and the last week of Phase 1. I haven't lost any weight; if anything, I feel I've gotten bigger. At least I know it's because of the muscle that I'm building, and not because of fat.
After this week, I get to start cardio, so I should start seeing the weight (slowly, but surely) come off. This plan doesn't allow cardio for the first 4 weeks. I am currently sitting at 131.6. Hopefully by the end of next week I'll be below 130.
If anyone is looking for a weight loss plan, definitely check this one out. I don't watch the videos because her voice is so annoying, but the plan is amazing. Yay, I'm excited to count down each week with new weight loss results!

Back in the Gym
Well, it's been a week of me back in the gym. I'm sore, and I am not quite sure how to hobble up and down stairs. At least it's getting better the more I move. It's nice to be back in the gym. Once I get inside, I almost enjoy my workout. It's just the matter of getting to the gym that discourages me.
I am at 131, but I'm not too bummed. I have always put on muscle quickly, so I have no doubt it's the beginning stages of building muscle. After 4 weeks of this program, I am allowed to do cardio again, so then I'll be able to start losing fat. I am realizing how weak I am, by lifting. Hopefully that changes soon!
We have made a budget, and now it's figuring out how much we can afford to spend on food. Once we get that set, it will be much easier for us to plan out our menu for the week. Then, eating better will become more routine.
I'm excited to see what happens!

Meals are Prepped
I'm still sitting at an even 130. I don't like it, but it's my fault. Lately, we haven't been planning out our meals. We normally use a calendar board on our fridge so we can plan out each meal for every day of the week.
Today, I fixed it. I not only planned out of the meals for this week; I also cooked them. Well, only lasagna and chili. But since Alex will be gone most of the week, and we will both be gone for my birthday weekend, there isn't a lot to prepare. But that way, I won't have to worry about spending an hour cooking. I can just pull one of those two things out of the fridge and have a quick and healthy dinner.
Hopefully this menu board gets me back on track. Once I lose a couple of pounds from eating better, I'll head into the gym and try to push off the last few pounds.
Have a great week. Thanks!

Damn Eating Out...
I forgot to weight myself at the beginning of the week. Honestly, it was probably a good thing. My main focus is eating healthy, and maybe going to the gym if my husband makes me. This past week, however, there has been no healthy eating. Which has made me suffer in my weight loss. I weighed myself this morning and I'm sitting at 130. Since it's a bad idea to shoot for a particular weight, I will give myself a range from 122-118. So I have around 10 lbs to lose.
If I eat healthy, I see the pounds fall off. I know if I went to the gym consistently, the results would be fantastic. It's one step at a time, and I have to realize that a cheat meal is a cheat meal, not a cheat "couple of days." I always seem to slip after I eat a cheat meal. It's then that I realize food that is bad for you tastes amazing! So I may have to stop cheat meals for a couple weeks, before I add them back into my eating plan.
This week, however, is not the week. Last night I visited Alex at work and bought Applebee's. Tonight we are driving to Denver to meet with my sister Lauren. Hence, another meal out. And Friday night, we are going on a double date with Chelsea and Jorge to the Elephant Bar. Yet, another meal out. Although I have been eating clean between meals out. So, I swear, starting next week it's clean for a full week!
I can't make any promises until then...

Off to a Great Start
2013 is off to a great start for me! I have lost two pounds since the beginning of the year. Finally, I see some changes from eating better. I did slip up a couple of times (my mother in law has the BEST mac and cheese recipe...), but I am still on a downward slope.
My husband and I sat down and talked yesterday, and one piece of the conversation involved us and the gym. We both agree that we feel and look better when we are consistently working out. The problem is that as soon as Alex says the word 'gym,' I lose all motivation. I know for the sake of both of us, we need to stay active, whether that be outdoors or in the gym. The sad part is that, during winter, our only option is to work out indoors.
Hopefully I can use this weight drop to help me focus on my workouts in the gym. I have wanted to get in shape for a long time, and here's to hoping I can finally gain some motivation! Thanks, all!
