I forgot to weight myself at the beginning of the week. Honestly, it was probably a good thing. My main focus is eating healthy, and maybe going to the gym if my husband makes me. This past week, however, there has been no healthy eating. Which has made me suffer in my weight loss. I weighed myself this morning and I'm sitting at 130. Since it's a bad idea to shoot for a particular weight, I will give myself a range from 122-118. So I have around 10 lbs to lose.
If I eat healthy, I see the pounds fall off. I know if I went to the gym consistently, the results would be fantastic. It's one step at a time, and I have to realize that a cheat meal is a cheat meal, not a cheat "couple of days." I always seem to slip after I eat a cheat meal. It's then that I realize food that is bad for you tastes amazing! So I may have to stop cheat meals for a couple weeks, before I add them back into my eating plan.
This week, however, is not the week. Last night I visited Alex at work and bought Applebee's. Tonight we are driving to Denver to meet with my sister Lauren. Hence, another meal out. And Friday night, we are going on a double date with Chelsea and Jorge to the Elephant Bar. Yet, another meal out. Although I have been eating clean between meals out. So, I swear, starting next week it's clean for a full week!
I can't make any promises until then...

Off to a Great Start
2013 is off to a great start for me! I have lost two pounds since the beginning of the year. Finally, I see some changes from eating better. I did slip up a couple of times (my mother in law has the BEST mac and cheese recipe...), but I am still on a downward slope.
My husband and I sat down and talked yesterday, and one piece of the conversation involved us and the gym. We both agree that we feel and look better when we are consistently working out. The problem is that as soon as Alex says the word 'gym,' I lose all motivation. I know for the sake of both of us, we need to stay active, whether that be outdoors or in the gym. The sad part is that, during winter, our only option is to work out indoors.
Hopefully I can use this weight drop to help me focus on my workouts in the gym. I have wanted to get in shape for a long time, and here's to hoping I can finally gain some motivation! Thanks, all!

Me? A Cook?
Today I did something amazing...I cooked. I have never been comfortable in a kitchen; if I'm honest, I'm still not comfortable. But I'm trying. Tonight I cooked a spinach lasagna, and prepped noodles for a Greek Pasta salad for tomorrow. I also want to make some quinoa stuffed peppers for Sunday.
I have been more easily motivated with food than I have been with workouts. I seem to see more immediate changes to my body (although minor) when I eat better, as opposed to spending time in the gym. I know I need both aspects in my life in order to make a complete and healthy life change. It's just finding the balance between learning my diet and finding my workouts.
On the plus side, the lasagna was pretty good. Tonight, it's time to relax. I'll start with the gym...tomorrow.
